The Center for Innovative Technology (CIT), in partnership with Virginia Tech's Center for Geospatial Information Technology (CGIT), and Virginia Information Technologies Agency's (VITA) Virginia Geographic Information Network (VGIN), have developed a number of tools and resources designed to further assist Virginia localities in their broadband planning efforts.

Broadband Map

The Virginia Broadband Availability Map is an interactive map that allows users to search by address or locality to identify where broadband services may be available and which providers are providing service in the area. The data behind the map comes directly from the providers to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

Vertical Assets

The Vertical Assets Inventory serves as a repository of location information for tall structures that have the potential to serve as wireless transmission sites throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.
